Monday July 20th
Dressed up smart this morning and the sun shone brightly as we walked into town for Ted's appeal. We were both very nervous but confident about the outcome. The 1st session went as anticipated if a little long-winded but the first warning sign was there in that there was much discussion about Kings' being full.
Headed off for lunch and bought some new dining chairs before discovering King Arthur's Round Table. There it was, just hanging there, no pomp, no ceremony. Unbelievable. I thought it was a massive dartboard but no, all that legend right there in the middle of Winchester. It seems that Winchester was the centre of Kings and Queens for hundreds of years until the Civil War in the 17th Century. I never knew that.
We made our case in front of the Appeal Panel but the vibes weren't good as they were only interested in why our son should go to Kings' not why we thought Kings' could take another child. There is nothing we can do except wait now.
