Day 68 - Trip Into Manhattan

Tuesday June 23rd

Amazingly, I crawled out of bed and made my way over to the Aqueduct for our 6.15 rendez-vous, picking Mike Hogan up on the way. A very unfamiliar route but happy I made it. I felt good all day as a result. It was very strange not having the kids with us, knowing that two other families were getting them ready for school

Mrs N and I took a trip into the city and met up with Debbie and Lisa for some shopping down town. I was there to find some gifts and a last few catch ups before leaving. I just about fitted it all in. Technically we took Ellen and some of her friends as well but they disappeared at Grand Central.

First up was lunch with Bret. He is heading off to Gabon for at least year. This adventure almost made me jealous and I was very excited for him. Then it was a cup of tea with Chris and then the train to White Plains for a pint with Christian. Finally we had dinner with Rob and Tom in Greenwich. They were very pleased with their gifts particularly the bacon rasher band-aids
