Teaching metric measurements to 8.2.4 today. It started well but I lost them when we got to conversion from one unit to the next. This is a big issue for me - what level to pitch each lesson at. It seems to change with each topic so you have to be ready for anything. My assumption was that it would be pretty straight forward BUT when we got to the number getting smaller as the unit of measurement got bigger, bang, lost them completely.
Tomorrow is my first 3 lesson day and I'm a little nervous about it especially as one of them is being observed.
